Instructor Spotlight!

Please join us in welcoming new Instructor, Dana Uson! Read on to learn a little more about her and her teaching style. Join Dana for class in BGC on Mondays at 8pm and in Podium on Saturdays at 2pm.

What is your fitness background?

I was a dancer in a former life and after graduating from university, I found my thirst for movement quenched by different types of group fitness classes. I currently teach indoor cycling and rowing, and previously taught barre classes.

What interested you in teaching at Elev8?

I still remember how sore I felt after my first class nearly two years ago (hi, Carla!). That soreness has since been replaced by a feeling of strength after every class, and I love how much more self-aware and balanced I’ve become since then. That experience is something I would love to be able to share with others.

What is your personal exercise regimen?

Alongside the classes I teach, I make it a point to exercise 4-5 times a week, usually on weekends and some mornings before heading to work. I like to mix up Elev8 classes, cycling, rowing, barre, and yoga, depending on how I’m feeling!

How would you describe your teaching style?

I like to keep things high-energy and fun, even when it gets hard. I want students to walk in knowing that class is a sacred space where you can put your troubles behind you, and leave feeling like you’re ready to seize the day (or night – depending on what time you like to party in the studio).

What excites you the most about teaching at Elev8?

I love meeting new people and the mix of personalities has always been one of my favorite things about fitness. I’m honored to have the chance to share with clients everything I’ve picked up from our training. It’s also exciting knowing that I’ll be learning from and growing with some of the most amazing people in the fitness industry.

What is your favorite Elev8 Move?

 It’s a love-hate relationship with Oblique Sweeps.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In between all the hustling, time with friends and family is golden. You’ll find me enjoying a good cup of coffee with good company.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

I’ve got a sausage dog named Jackie, and I spoil her like a princess!
